‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s Nostalgia: Pinballz Arcade

‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s Nostalgia: Pinballz Arcade

Pinballz Arcade I recently visited Pinballz Arcade for a birthday celebration and felt a refreshing wave of nostalgia. Pinballz is the way arcades should be.

They have more than 100 pinball machines—see the overwhelming list here—and other popular games including mainstays like air hockey, skee ball and shuffle board.

The best part, however, is that admission is free and the price per game seems unaffected by modern inflation. In other words, think Dave & Busters, but without the running-out-of money-before-you’ve-even-played-six-games part, or the looking-at-your-receipt-and-wanting-to-cry part. This is an arcade done right and with style. You can walk in at 9 p.m. and play constantly until midnight without breaking the bank, or even spending that much at all.

It’s also BYOB currently, which makes it even more reasonable and affordable. Pinballz allows 21 & ups to bring in one drink per person at a time. This means leave the 6-packs in the car, but I don’t see why you can’t go back to grab a fresh beer. See all their rules here. But hopefully they still have affordable alcoholic drinks even after they finish building their full café.

Overall, I highly recommend this enjoyable arcade that’s affordable and seemingly aware of what arcades are supposed to be about, fun. Not just making money. Pinballz b

  1. Did they have a Doctor Who pinball machine? I heard there is one somewhere in Austin, and I’m thinking this must be the place.

  2. I took Jamie here and we had so much fun! This is hands down my favorite arcade in town.

  3. They certainly do have a Dr. Who pinball! I should’ve gotten a picture!

  4. Eek! Now I really want to go!
