Five Things We Love This Week
1) We admit it. We’re in love with a dog. Check out this sweet story of the seven-foot-tall Great Dane who lives in the UK and is now the world’s biggest dog.
2) We are becoming big fans of the The Head and The Heart, who have been in heavy rotation on KGSR recently with their single “Lost in My Mind,” and we can’t wait to see them perform live in September at the Austin City Limits Festival.
3) Tobey who? The cutest Spider-Man ever is definitely Andrew Garfield, which we can say confidently even though “The Amazing Spider-Man” is still a year away from release, thanks to this adorably sweet and geeky speech he gave at last week’s Comic-Con. (Bonus: Check out all the stars in EW’s Comic-Con photobooth!)
4) Wholly Cow Burgers could not be better named. Situated in a convenience store off South Lamar, this burger and sandwich shop serves up organic meals that are as delicious as they are natural. We heartily recommend the Heavenly Cheesey Double and the Greener Pastures washed down with a Texas Tea.
5) We promise you it is worth every single one of those thirteen dollars tickets to the Violet Crown Cinema cost to go see this summer’s funniest movie, the British import “The Trip.” Starring comedians Steve Coogan (probably best known stateside as the delusional drama teacher in the hilarious “Hamlet 2″) and Rob Brydon (from my favorite BBC comedy, “Gavin and Stacey”) as versions of themselves, the film (which was adapted from a BBC series) takes the buddy road trip movie format and turns it into a meditation on one-upsmanship, aging, impressions, food, ABBA and male friendships that expertly hopscotches between funny and poignant moments. Just don’t blame us if the man in your life spends the next few days coming up with his own Michael Caine impression.

That video for “The Head and The Heart” is hard to watch – I have forgotten what sweater weather is like. I would do anything to be stuck out in the cold weather and snow right now!
Haha! I went ice skating yesterday and got a nice little taste of cold weather. I miss it so!
