Weekly Radar Report
Here are a few events that should be on your radar this week:
Monday, May 16 – Instrumental band Mogwai is playing at Stubbs tonight. The Scottish band’s songs feature melodic guitar and heavy distortion, resulting in a transcendental sound that’s a little like a waking dream. Doors are at 7 pm, tickets here.
Tuesday, May 17 – It’s Tittie Boingo night at the Highball. “In the greatest partnership since tequila and karaoke, we’ve decided to combine a game show with edited versions of porn parodies.” We’re not sure exactly what to expect at this event but with $2 Lone Stars and $4.50 wells, it’s sure to be a good time.
Wednesday, May 18 – This May is bike month, so why not dig your wheels out of the garage and start pedaling? FastFolks is starting up a weekly ride for all the lady cyclists tired of the testosterone-fests other group rides can often be. Meet at FastFolks downtown at 8:30 pm to begin.
Thursday, May 19 – Unplugged at Shady Grove presents Suzanna Choffel. Click here to hear her husky, acoustic version of “Hot Shot,” one of the new tracks on Steady Eye Shaky Bow, which will be available in stores on May 24 or watch the video below of her playing “Hey Mister,” live from ME-TV Studios here in Austin.

Anyone want to hit up the Renegade Craft Fair with me?
I would but I won’t be able to stay long – I have class at noon. Does Saturday or Sunday work better?
Ooh, and don’t forget Master Pancake’s Cage-athon has two more showings this weekend. It’s hilarious!
