Paramount Releases Summer Classics Film Series Schedule
If I had to pick my favorite thing about summer in Austin, it just might be The Paramount Theatre‘s annual Summer Classics Film Series. The schedule for this year’s series debuted today, and it looks like once again I’ll be spending a lot of time cooling off with some of The Paramount’s trusty powerhouse A/C and a Lone Star in front of the silver screen.
First, I would love to get into Peter Bogdonovich’s opening night history lesson along with the traditional series opener, Casablanca, on May 20, and then there are three of my all-time favorites: Charade (June 25-26), Holiday (July 19-21) and The Apartment (Aug. 29-30). And my husband hasn’t missed a single year’s 70mm screening of Lawrence of Arabia in at least the past six years, so I know he’s already got August 26-27 on his calendar.
Tickets range from $5 to $9 depending on how far in advance you buy them or if you go for their Flix Tix deal.
Which screening are you most excited about?

“Charade” is my favorite Cary Grant movie of all time!
“The Philadelphia Story” is mine. I was a little sad it’s not on their schedule this year.
