Five Things We Love This Week

1) Oh, how we wish we could come home from a trip to IKEA with any one of these wonderful things. Especially this one:

2) Indie-pop musician Jeremy Messersmith‘s delicate harmonies and quirky lyrics make for moving music that reminds us a bit of modern John Denver.

3) This made us laugh way too loud:

4) We enjoyed getting a peek behind the curtain at some famous writers’ routines. Now whenever we do anything weird, we’re just going to blame it on our irrepressible creativity!

5) Speaking of famous writers, these letters written by authors in the 1970s to encourage young readers to visit a children’s library in Michigan seriously warmed our book-loving hearts. Our favorite is from Charlotte’s Web author E.B. White, who wrote “It is a place where books live, and where you can get in touch with other people, and other thoughts, through books.” And our favorite illustration is, of course, this one:
