Cirque De Flirt at Emo’s Saturday

Having witnessed the coy but classy entertainment of burlesque dancing at Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce‘s nightclub at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas, I was delighted to hear of the Cirque De Flirt show at Emo’s this Saturday for what’s sure to be a titillating display of feminine wiles. What better way could there be to kick off the weekend of Valentine’s Day?

This special show features dames only, including the glamorous Jigglewatt Burlesque and Cabaret dancers, with the likes of fiery vixen, Ruby Joule, (who by the way, ladies, happens to offer a Classic Burlesque workshop, in association with the Austin Academy of Burlesque), the sinuous Apophenia Belly Dance troupe, and Spunshine (formerly the Hoopsie Daisy Hoo Troupe). It’s sure to be a bedazzling show for just $8 in advance or $12 at the door (tickets available are here).

The Jigglewatts first formed in Austin in 2006, in a manner nobody could have predicted, after fortuitously meeting on the set of Z: A Zombie Musical. Naturally good things were destined to follow. Spunshine specializes in hula hoop fire dance and at Saturday’s show will be debuting a quadruple fire hoop duet – um, yes please! Here’s a little sneak preview of what these talented women can do.
