Le Garage Sale

Ladies, if you have a hankering for some le shopping this weekend, hit up Le Garage Sale at the Palmer Events Center. This two-day extravaganza features independent boutiques only, meaning you will be supporting local businesses, as only those who are not part of a national or international chain can participate. From MISSBEHAVE to Hardtail to Ornamental Things (gorgeous handmade jewelry I fell in love with at CraftRiot), this semi-annual event is cause for a spending spree.  To make it sweeter still, it’s cushioned by great deals as these stores are cheaply unloading the latest fall and winter styles. A special Chickster shout to our birds of a feather at C’est Chic, Chickie Chic, and The Hip Chick, just a few of the other participating stores.

Bring ten bucks for entry (and $7 for parking, unless you’re lucky enough to snag a free spot in the lot at One Texas Center on the southwest corner of S. 1st and Barton Springs) and you’ll get a steal of a deal with your favorite boutiques all under one roof. Thankfully, an ATM will be on hand should you decide to up your budget once you get a look at the goods. Plus, should your stamina begin to falter, you can always perk up at the Starbucks at the Palmer Events Center to keep on rummaging.
