Guest Blog Post: Community clean-up karma

Apr 8, 2010 by     2 Comments    Posted under: Austin-tatious Events, Paying it Forward

Just as our closets need a good Spring cleaning, our beautiful Austin landscape could use a little TLC too. Chicksters can keep their volunteer karma working this Saturday, April 10, for Clean Sweep 2010. Keep Austin Beautiful is hosting this citywide clean-up event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with designated clean-up locations all over Austin. Last year more than 120 sites, including parks and trails, were made beautiful again by more than 4,000 volunteers. That’s a lot of fellow Chicksters helping out their community!

What’s even better, participants can put on their fiesta hats after the dirty work is done to attend the Clean Sweep Volunteer Party with live music, food and prizes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It’s a great way to get out in the sun, soak up some Vitamin D and do better by the town you call home.
