Getting hitched? Win a free wedding from ZACH Theatre!

Take it from this newlywed – getting married is expensive. And coordinating that one day can be more stressful than you’d ever imagine. If last year someone had told me I could win a free wedding that included among all the fun trappings of a rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception free wedding coordination, I would have done whatever it took to win that wedding.
In the case of the ZACH Theatre “Our Town” Wedding Giveaway, all you have to do is make a two-minute video with your fiance explaining why you are the ideal couple to win an Austin-themed wedding that includes everything from the cake and the photography to the music and the officiant. Upload your two-minute video to YouTube and email the link to mywedding@zachtheatre.org by next Sunday, March 28. From March 29-April 11, the videos will be displayed online on the ZACH Theatre site for the public to vote for their favorite couple, and the winner will be announced on April 12.
The free wedding giveaway is a promotion for the upcoming ZACH Theatre production of Thornton Wilder’s great play “Our Town” (which always makes me think of that episode of “My So-Called Life” when Rayanne plays Emily and has to rehearse with Angela after a particularly traumatic teen experience). “Our Town” will star Jaston Williams of “Greater Tuna” fame (he’s the one holding the caketopper in the photo above) as The Stage Manager (a part famously played by Paul Newman in a 2003 televised production). The play will run from April 15 to May 23, and you can find out more and buy tickets by clicking here.

That’s good to know! Sorry if I come off a bit negative but I’ve been with my partner almost twenty years and can’t even get a civil union here in Texas. I’m just tired of the constant struggle for marriage equality.
